We went over to Saturn Sports Cars in Hartlepool on Saturday to pic up wishbones and some othe bits. The owner Andy took us out in his car, we had a gr8 morning and Both Andy's were very freindly.

Also met Mark from the roadster forum and Coozer who brought along his MNR Vortex.

Sheet Myself.

We went today to the local stockholder "Thomas Graham" and picked up a sheet of 2mm Ally tred plate and 1mm plain ally.

This weekend we are off to Saturn to collect suspension Bones, diff plate, pedal box, rack extensions..

With that done we have everything in hand to get from the bare chassis to the floored, panneld rolling assembly!!!

Just have other things to get done first realy!

Chassis

Well I have picked up an almost complete chassis from an abandoned project.

I also got a set of rear uprights, camber adjusters and one or two minor bits from Davey Near Glasgow. This is a BIG step on the route to ROADSTERDOM

I also got a second V6 Type 9 Box, Pro, Starter, Clutch and braided brake lines.

So so far I have..

And probably one or two minor items...

Just need the wishbones and bushes to get a rolling chassis ;)

The Project.

This is the start of the blog, we ( myself and my son whos 5 1/2) will be building a sports car based on the book

"Build your own sports car on a budget"

The car is a Lotus 7 type car.

Currently we are ammassing parts for the build.

We have...

2.9L Ford V6 Engine
5 Speed Gearbox ( althought it's 350 miles away)
Front Hubs with ball joints & Mushroom top mounts
Dampers and Springs
Fuel Tank
Harneses
Wheels ( a selection in my collection )
Rear Brakes, driveshafts and Diff

I am collecting a chassis with rear hub uprights next weekend..
